Excursions Worth the Flight
Islands and routes around Phuket, personally checked by our team. Prices are approximate per person when booked as a tour.

Phi Phi Islands & Maya Bay
The must-see of the Andaman Sea: Maya Bay from "The Beach", Phi Phi Don viewpoint, snorkeling at Pileh Lagoon and Monkey Beach. Speedboat from Ao Po or Rassada pier.

James Bond Island & Phang Nga Bay
The Ko Tapu rock from the Bond film, sea-cave kayaking at Hong, the stilt village of Ko Panyi and the cave Buddha. The region's most dramatic scenery.

Similan Islands
Thailand's best snorkeling and underwater world: turquoise water, visibility up to 30m, 9 national park islands. Note: the park is closed May 16 – Oct 14 — check the season.

Khai Islands (Khai Nai, Khai Nok)
Perfect easy island day: just 20 minutes by speedboat, white sand, shallow clear sea and fish right at your feet. Great even with small kids.

Coral Island (Ko He)
The closest island to Phuket (15 min from Chalong): Yanui beach, banana boat, parasailing and snorkeling over the coral reef. You can even go on your own by long-tail boat.

Racha Yai & Diving
An island 20 km south: crystal water year-round, one of the best dive sites for beginners and certified divers, beautiful sandy bays of Ao Sane and Battery Bay.

Phuket Old Town
19th-century Sino-Portuguese architecture, Thalang and Dibuk streets, loft cafes, the Jui Tui shrine and the Sunday Walking Street. A great evening without the sea and the crowds.

Jungle, Waterfalls & Jeep Safari
Khao Phan Thung national park, Bang Pae and Ton Sai waterfalls, a rubber plantation, basket weaving and lunch with a Thai family. The "inside the island" trip when beaches get old.
Tip: for the Similans and Phi Phi take the speedboat tour — more time at sea and fewer people. The sea is rough May–October; in those months pick day trips in Phang Nga Bay, which stays calm almost all year.
